Angel I-Han Teng is a LA-based Taiwanese filmmaker. Her work deals with issues surrounding identity, gender, feminism and human rights with subtle sensibility. Her first narrative feature film as the writer, “Bao Bao”, a Taiwan-UK co-production, premiered at the Outfest Film Festival in Los Angeles and was nominated in the Asia-Pacific Film Festival in 2018. The film went on to screen at festivals internationally and had its theatrical release in Taiwan and Japan.

She is a winner of Taiwanese government’s Excellent Screenplay Award, a recipient of Alison Doerner Fund for Women Pioneers in Filmmaking, an awardee of CESASC Lisa Lu Foundation Scholarship, and a resident artist in Scotland with support from Templeton World Charity Foundation. Her series project proposal won the Gold Prize in the GagaOOLala Pitching Sessions. She has interned for director Catherine Hardwicke and was selected to participate in the Walt Disney Imagineering CalArts Educational Initiative Program and the Story Development Internship at Lucasfilm. Recently, she worked in the programming team of Los Angeles Chinese Film Festival and collaborated with Taiwan Academy in Los Angeles on research projects.
